ZigBee:
It provides digital radio communications between computers and others electronic devices. It is
suitable for wireless sensor/control network. Where the network consist of large number of
devices and large coverage area and the device data rate needs are low. ZigBee has been ratified
in late 2004 under IEEE 802.15.4 wireless networking standards.
RFID:
It is a well known technology that has recently received a lot of endorsement from the U.S
government and the retail industry. ISO has developed RFID standards for automatic
identification and item management. This standard, known as the ISO 18000 series, covers the
air interface protocol for systems likely to be used to track goods in the supply chain. The UHF
band is most common for supply-chain and industrial automation applications. As a result, EPC
Global has also developed Gen 2 RFID standard for system operating in the UHF band. This
standard is expected to be ratified as ISO 18000-6C.
